As many of you are immigrants and minorities who have poured your lives into building a better future, it is unacceptable for the Burbank City Council to consider imposing housing control measures that unfairly regulate your properties. This is not just about business—it’s about preserving the fundamental rights that define our nation and protecting the legacy you’ve built.

Rent control threatens to erode your ability to manage your properties as you see fit, potentially reducing your income and making it harder to maintain and improve your investments. For many of you, these properties represent decades of sacrifice and the realization of the American dream. Yet, local government actions could strip away your autonomy, treating you like large corporate landlords despite your small-scale, personal stakes. This is particularly unjust given your backgrounds, where hard work and perseverance have been the cornerstone of your success.

2. Speak at City Council Meetings: Share your story and concerns directly with the Burbank City Council. Attend meetings, sign up to speak during public comments, and let them know how housing control would affect your livelihood. Check the city’s calendar for meeting dates and details (City of Burbank Meetings). Please read carefully the  directions to speak in person or calling in.
